Hell! If They Can Do It, We Can Do It! Living with a stolen Supreme Court.

Like most people I know I was deeply depressed upon hearing that Trump’s nominee for the Supreme Court, Amy Coney Barrette, was finally confirmed by the GOP senate. It was expected, but it still was a travesty. I was struck with the competing emotions of anger, fear, and depression. To some people, this is just another court seat that is being filled. Not for me. Once again as long as some people are not being directly affected they don’t care.

My first thoughts upon hearing that this right-wing religious extremist, who has actively spoken out against LGBTQ rights and same-sex marriage was that my marriage and those of millions of others will soon be in jeopardy. Two of the Justices, useless Clarence Thomas, and “Atilla” Alito have recently stated that the same-sex marriage ruling was a mistake and should be revisited. I guess Thomas, whose wife is white, has forgotten that it wasn’t too long ago that his bi-racial marriage was illegal.

Before Trump’s stooges on the court destroy my marriage and my rights they’re going to destroy women’s rights, in particular reproductive rights. This will probably be the first thing that Barrett goes after, along with her cohort Brett Kavanaugh, if he sobers up in time to vote. I will venture a guess that this attack on women will take place within a year. Barrett is not only vehemently against abortion, but she has also spoken out against in-vitro fertilization. Here come the handmaidens!

Among other tenants of our American democracy that will fall by the wayside are the separation of church and state and voting rights. It’s only been one day since Barrett has been part of the court and the conservative Supreme Court has already said that votes received after November 3rd cannot be counted. Kavanaugh’s written decision seems like it was written by Trump himself! I have always thought that all American citizens, over the age of 18 have a Constitutional right to vote, regardless of race, religion, or gender. No more! Trump’s court will soon allow only white, male Christians the right to vote.

As far as the separation of church and state is concerned she holds strong beliefs in the expression of religious liberty that would preserve the right to discriminate against the LGBTQ community and people of non-Christian faiths. She has even hinted that religious beliefs supersede the Constitution. She will legalize bigotry and hate towards some members of our society.

We will be subjected to an onslaught of attacks on our freedoms for quite some time. She’s in there for life unless Congress can set new terms limits for justices. Hopefully, the way the Republicans have unethically filled this seat by pushing the confirmation through one week before an election will energize Democrats to vote in overwhelming numbers to destroy Trump and his Republican henchmen in Congress.

For too long the Democrats have played too nicely, while the Republicans lied, cheated, and stole their way to power. Trump, his cohorts in Congress, in the Justice Department, and now on the Supreme Court have ignored tradition, the rule of law, and the Consitution to get what they want. None of them has been held accountable. If the Democrats win the House, the Senate, and the White House, we should take our country and our freedoms back. If the Supreme Court disagrees with what is being done, the Democrats should ignore them. The Republicans did it. So we should do it now.

It's Almost Over, but will the Fat Lady Sing?

Two weeks from today the 2020 presidential election will be over. Or will it?  This election has not been like any other election in our country's history for many reasons.  Among them is the election is taking place during a pandemic which has forced a change in the way the candidates carry on their campaigns.

Old fashioned person to person campaigning, for the most part, has been replaced by virtual campaigning to protect the electorate from being infected by COVID-19. I should say that only the Democratic candidate JoeBiden has adhered to the CDC's recommendations on the social distancing and the wearing of face masks to prevent the spread of the virus.  Trump on the other hand, even though he supposedly has contracted the virus, continues to hold large in-person rallies in defiance of the medical experts.  Some have called his rallies "super spreaders".

Many had thought that the 2016 election was bizarre, with all of the personal attacks, lies, and the help of the Russians to swing the election to Trump, but the 2020 election takes the cake.  Because of our antiquated and undemocratic system of having the president chosen by the Electoral College, Trump lost the popular vote, but narrowly won the vote in the Electoral College.  And this could happen again this time around.

 As with the polls in 2016, Trump is losing and losing big time.  But this time the pollsters insist that they have learned a great deal since 2016 and are more confident in their results. Even though Trump's popularity has been the lowest of any incumbent for most of his presidency, his disdain for the rule of law, the politicization of our government institutions, and his constant lying, points to the possibility of the corruption of the electoral process. 

For the first time in our nation's history, an incumbent president has called for the arrest and conviction of his political opponents. Also for the first time in our history, Trump has refused to denounce white supremacy and has actually signaled the use of violence from right-wing terrorist groups who support him.  He has also mocked a Democratic governor for being targeted for kidnapping and possibly being tried and executed, by a right-wing terrorist group masquerading as a militia group.

Perhaps the most egregious thing that Trump has done is to refuse to commit to a peaceful transition of power if he loses the election.  Even Vice-President Pence has refused to commit to the transition.  He has fired up his supporters at his rallies by calling for "12 more years" and convincing them that the election has already been rigged against him.

For the first time in my life, I have voted by absentee ballot, as have millions of other Americans.  As Trump believes the majority of those who vote by mail are Democrats he has tried to sabotage the United States Postal Service. He installed one of his lacky campaign contributors as the Postmaster-General, who proceeded to slow down the delivery of mail by destroying automated mail sorting systems or taking them out of service.  He even directed the removal of those oh so familiar blue mailboxes.  Fortunately, this sabotage of the USPS was halted after an angry public complained about the detrimental effects on the delivery of prescription medications, Social Security checks, and other essential services.

Not to be deterred Republicans in Red states, especially the South have been working overtime to suppress the votes of Blacks ad other minorities.  In Texas, the GOP governor has limited the number of drop off boxes for absentee ballots to one box in heavily Democratic areas or those areas with a large Black or Hispanic population.  In GOP-led states with large Native American populations legislatures are making it as difficult as possible for people living on a reservation to vote, as most of these residents support the Democratic party.  Imagine, these Republican bastards have stolen their land, stolen their culture, stolen their religion, and now they are trying to steal their vote! 

Usually at this time in an election people look for the "October Surprise", a news event that attempts to influence the outcome of the election.  In 2016 it was FBI Director Comey's announcement that he was reopening the investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server.  This announcement was widely considered to be the nail in the coffin for Clinton's campaign.  It was later found, after many lengthy investigations that nothing illegal was found,  but it was too late for Clinton - and the American people.

The latest attempt to spring an October Surprise on the electorate failed when Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani presented fake documents to the New York Post regarding Biden's son Hunter. The information was found to be supplied to Giuliani by Russian agents to discredit Biden.  With 2 weeks to go, I doubt Trump, Russia, Giuliani, and Barr will give up so easily.

Trump and his grifter family and associates fully realize that if Trump loses the election they could easily end up in prison. Trump also realizes that he is almost 1 billion dollars in debt to some foreign power and if he loses the election he won't have the US Treasury and taxpayers to steal from.  In other words, he's up the proverbial creek without a paddle.

I'm afraid that Trump is like a rabid animal backed into a corner and will stop at nothing, even endangering the health and safety of the American people, to retain his office.  On November 3rd this whole mess may not be over.  Even if Biden wins by a monstrous landslide, Trump may incite his followers to violence and refuse to accept the results.  He may refuse to leave the Oval Office on Inauguration Day causing the Secret Service or the military to drag him out screaming and kicking. 

If God forbid, he loses the election in a close race and the decision has to be made by the Supreme Court, we're done for.  Trump and Moscow Mitch have already prepared for that likelihood by pushing through the nomination of Amy Coney Barrett to the bench to anoint King Donald.

I don't think this country, as we know it and love, can exist with another 4 years of Donald Trump.  If anything, Trump's past 4 years have proven how evil and ruthless he is and can be.  His psychopathy has been increasingly worsening and I fear for the outcome of this election.  Usually, election day is the end of the political cycle, but in my opinion, the 2020 election will be far from over on November 3rd or on January 20th.  It's not going to be over, because I don't think the fat lady will get to sing!

When It Comes to Trump and Covid I'm Very Skeptical

It's been a few days since the announcement that Donald Trump has tested positive for COVID-19.  Like many Americans who have been subjected to his daily onslaught of lies for almost four years, I was extremely skeptical.  I know that Trump and the GOP would do anything to ensure Trump is re-elected.  The alternatives for Trump are prison time and bankruptcy.

At first I was almost sure that Trump was pulling a political stunt to control the 24/7 news coverage to overshadow Biden, as well as drawing attention away from his tax problems, the over 210K deaths from the Trump virus, and the tape of Melania bitching about the "fucking Christmas decorations" and mocking immigrant children in cages.

Knowing that Trump is just a has-been reality show star I felt that he and his cronies could easily fabricate a hoax about Trump testing positive for COVID-19.  The GOP would gladly fall on their collective swords to honor their Fuhrer. He could easily blackmail close Trump associates to go along with the plan and lie about testing positive.  The "Rose Garden Massacre", which was orchestrated  to push Trump's nominee to replace the late Justice Ginsberg, Amy Coney Barret has become ground zero for the spread of the virus through the White House. How could this be staged?  I still didn't trust that Trump was positive. 

As Trump was admitted to Walter Reed I still had very strong doubts. Then I began seeing Trump's closest associates drop like flies to the Trump virus.  Even Melania was positive, but as we all know she would do anything for the money.  As staged photos of Trump working from his hospital room appeared, I was even more confused.  He obviously was signing blank sheets of papers, but he was wearing the same clothes he was wearing when he was admitted.  How could this be?  They should have been taken from him and disinfected.

Rolling out his osteopathic doctor with updates contributed to my doubts about the authenticity of his illness.  Information about his condition was sparse and contradictory. Even his treatment regimen was confusing.  Then came the now infamous ride around the block so the fat ass could wave to the morons still supporting him.  The limo driver and all the Secret Service men sworn to protect Trump were exposed to Covid, just so the wannabe dictator could have a photo op.

With each passing day more and more of Trump's inner circle and the entire White House staff were becoming infected.  Virus denying Trump has become Super Spreader Trump!  Then suddenly the asshole discharged himself from Walter Reed and took a helicopter ride home to the White House.  It was while watching Trump making his Mussolini-like appearance on the balcony, and waving to the camera and ripping of his mask to prove his manliness, that I began to believe this moron was sick.

I have COPD/asthma and I am at high risk for COVID-19.  When I saw Trump struggling to breath through pursed lips, while his chest was heaving in and out gasping for air, it brought back memories of two years ago when I was stricken with the flu and fought for every breath. Even watching Trump fight for air caused me to be more aware of my own labored breathing.  I knew he was sick. Very sick.

Even though I hate the fat bastard I do not wish the worst for him.  And this is extremely difficult for me as I have watched Trump call this pandemic a hoax, ridicule those who intelligently and cautiously wore masks and followed the CDC guidelines. It is his own fault that he got sick and I am not going to feel sorry for him.

Today Trump announced that he is "feeling great", even though that feeling of euphoria is mostly like a side effect of the drugs he is taking.  Those same drugs that were denied to all of those Americans that are now suffering from the virus and those who have lost their lives to the virus.  Amazing what paying $750 a year in taxes can buy! What is unconscionable is him saying he may be be immune and intimating that those who suffered and died are weaker than him!  So the over 210,000 Americans who have died from the Trump virus are suckers and losers just like those who served and died for their country!

I am thoroughly pissed off hearing that Trump supporters are upset because the rest of us are not showing him more sympathy and are  hoping for the worse for him.  I do not feel sorry for him, nor do I wish he dies.  I want him to suffer. I want him to get better. I want him to lose the election in the largest landlside in American history. I want him to be tried and convicted of all the crimes he has committed. And then I want him to lose everything he has and spend the rest of his hateful, corrupt, narcissistic miserable life in prison.

Tonight he just ended any hopes the millions of Americans suffering from the effects of the pandemic may have had for some relief by refusing to cooperate with Congress for a stimulus package.  According to his statement, "until after he wins the election".  He's one sick evil bastard! He deserves to suffer, for all of the suffering he has caused.
